Rusty Nuts MC Grand Challenge

The Grand Challenge is to ride a motorbike a thousand miles in 24 hours.

For 20 years Lee Rusty has been organising what is an institution in New Zealand tour riding, the Grand Challenge. It has become over that time a pilgrimage for riders to either renew acquaintances, or throw away the day to day trappings of their life and just hit the road to prove they can still beat he elements and conquer the distance.

This documentary is a record of the 20th anniversary run of the RNMC Grand Challenge which traverses much of New Zealand's North Island roads, often travelling to familiar places on unfamiliar roads.

I was so inspired by the DVD that I've sent away to do it again, and it was my first time last year, and I did it on a KLR650.

Doesn't matter what you ride, hell there was one guy on a scooter on the DVD and another chap on a RD350.
